I’ve been passionate about health and wellness for years, but I really got serious about it when we decided to start our family!
Growing up in the Midwest, I, like most kids in the 90s, was raised on the Standard American Diet. After years of consuming not-so-healthy foods and prescription meds, my health started to take a turn. I was no longer the happy, social, energetic girl who got straight A’s and played every sport available to me.
By age thirteen, I had developed crippling anxiety and a host of other medical issues. Suddenly I couldn’t focus on my schoolwork. My grades plummeted because my brain fog was so bad. I went from staying up after midnight so that I could read a novel in one sitting to barely being able to comprehend a single page. My vision would go black if I stood up too quickly, and my joints hurt so badly that I had to stop playing sports. Doctors were stumped, even though the answer is so clear to me now.
After fifteen years of relying on western medicine to fix my problems, I’d finally had enough. Enough of the prescription medications, gaslighting, and quick fixes without trying to get to the root cause. I realized that no one can help me except for me. I decided to take radical responsibility for my own health and never looked back.
True health is a lifelong journey and I’m here to share all that I learn along the way!
